In case you don’t recognize it, today’s blog title comes from a soothsayer in Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar.  And the soothsayer was foretelling Caesar’s death on the “Ides” — or midpoint — of the month of March.  So, March 15 is one of those dates that sticks in your memory.  And it will be a very important date for those of you who are taking the next Water Distribution Operator certification exam here in California.  That’s right, it’s on March 15: the Ides of March.

That’s only two months from now, so it’s time to get on the stick!  How best to prepare yourself to be successful on the Ides of March — and thus not suffer Caesar’s fate?  Here are a few tips.  First and foremost, start NOW!

We’re teaching an Intermediate Water Treatment Operator course for the California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association, on ten evenings beginning this evening in Rancho Cucamonga.  That would be a great way to prepare!  Yes, we know it’s a treatment course, but the MOST common feedback that we receive following every Distribution exam is that “there were a lot of treatment questions!”  And the reverse is true for the Treatment exam as well.  So make sure you include treatment topics in your preparations.  And phone CA-NV AWWA at 909-481-7200.

MOST will continue to provide you with suggestions to prepare for the Ides of March, so stay tuned.  And if you haven’t done so yet, sign up as a Subscriber to MOST.  It is absolutely free.  Just enter your e-mail address on the MOST home page, and you’ll receive timely updates like these so that you can stay on top of your Water Distribution and Water Treatment Operator certification issues.
